Yoga Etiquette

Our goal for every class is to offer everyone attending a peaceful, quiet and respectful atmosphere to learn and practice Bikram Yoga. In order to accomplish this we ask that all those attending adhere to our yoga etiquette during class.

FRONT ROW: The front row helps to lead the class so if you put your mat there we ask that you set an example for those around you. We need the most focused and disciplined students up the front so if you have an injury or you are not feeling 100% please move back to the second or third row.

NO TALKING IN CLASS:  Please do not talk in the yoga room before, during or after class.  Students who are in the room early use this time to relax and prepare for class.

WATER:  If required, the best time to drink water is between sets of postures.

DRINKS:  Please no glass bottles or coloured drinks such as Powerade are allowed in the yoga room as it stains the carpet!

PERSONAL BELONGINGS:  Please leave outside in the reception area. If you are on call please inform your teacher.

CLASS STARTS ON TIME: Please respect your teacher and fellow yogis by being on time. Late comers will not be admitted.

WHAT TO WEAR: wear light fitted clothing. Preferably shorts so you can see the muscles in your legs and a singlet or crop top so you can see the alignment of your hips.

SWEATING: It\'s your bodies way of cooling down so allow it to happen. Don\'t wipe the sweat

HAND TOWELS:  are not permitted within the yoga room unless you have specifically been given the ok by your teacher.

BREATHE:  Remember to slow down and breathe in and out through your nose, it lowers your heart rate and calms your nervous system.
